A simple way to make mods working as GH mods or RB mods is simple.
Make a Mod.ini or something, so then you put
type = [gh] or type = [rb]
Then , if type = gh, the game would work as guitar hero, and if type = rb, it would have the overdrive system and everything

I'm already working on an automatic mod type detection so we can have multiple Rock Band themes.... it should be the first hotfix if I get it finished tonight.

I don't know if this is a bug or just an oddity but the song list draws weird when there are 4 items on the list. I'll do my best to describe what it does. There are 7 lines on the screen. The top line says Setlist, second line says the directory & how many times you've played the song, then there are five lines listing song & artist. When there are only 4 songs it displays like this:

1....Setlist
2....Directory & count
3....Song 1
4....Song 2
5....Song 3
6....Song 4
7....Blank

But as you move the selector hilite down the list, the whole thing jump when it gets to song three. The blank line moves from below the 4 songs to above the songs...

1....Setlist
2....Directory & Count
3....Blank
4....Song 1
5....Song 2
6....Song 3
7....Song 4

edit: This happens in all 5 themes

---------------------ALARIAN V2.62 HOTFIX---------------------------
Instructions: Just unzip the hotfix into your Alarian main folder (where FretsOnFire.exe and the data folder reside). It will replace your fretsonfire.ini with a fresh one (back up yours if you want to refer to old settings) and various files in the Alarian\data folder.

If anyone finds problematic note patterns with the after-chord HOPOs, please confirm by performing multiple tests with the various HOPO options, and then create a blank / silent song containing just the problematic pattern and send it to me to use for debugging. Please ensure that your test song exhibits the same problem, if not you need to include more surrounding notes.

Remember, my hotfixes are cumulative - the latest fix contains all previous fixes unless otherwise noted.

---------------------
Latest hotfix:

Hotfix #1 - Link - Post -- Ds~ Rock Band Mod V3 modularized
****Fully modularized Rock Band theme and all related code:
*****You may now name your Rock Band theme folder(s) anything you'd like, they no longer have to be "Rb"
*****The game specifically checks for "overdriveneck.png" in the theme folder to determine if it is a Rock Band theme.

(the point is, you can have it as a completely separate Rock Band theme without replacing Alarian's "Rb" theme. If you don't like it, don't download it. It is an example.)

So if I copy the GH3 folder, will it copy the deal with the rotating star notes?

edit:
EdisLeado:
I'm getting an Invalid mode: Rb after getting new highscore on any song -- I'm using the latest Alarian mod 2.62 -- with only the GH3 theme installed. It doesn't really affect anything, I think -- I can hit OK and still go on and play -- But I'm just wondering why it's coming up.

I tried putting the RB folder into the themes folder too and it still comes up.

I've seen this bug too, and tried to track it down. It doesn't make any sense. I can find no more "Rb" in the code that could be causing that....

SpikeHead, I'm looking into your GH2 Strict reported problems, might be a bit before I figure out fixes...

I know now with this fix, the overdrive and the guitar neck will work in a new folder, but can you get the same effect as that with the GH3 folder? Like if I copy that folder, I will get the rotating star notes in my new theme?

yes. If you copy the SpinNotes.png and have the setting on "Animated" any GH-based theme should utilize the spinning star notes.

If you're using the same notesheet, yes. You can make your own animated notes for a theme if you have the latest hotfix.

So "GH based" means I can't have the overdrive system and animated star notes?

edit: Boy I'm greedy XD
