lol i played the songs on fof, and the fretting work its just ARHG, its sucks so much, just alot of random notes.

theres something about fof on the readme, i just dont know speak german, so anyone that know:

They are just trying to comply with the GPL 2 license. I'm not an expert, but it says if you want to distribute a derivative work of something under GPL then you need to also distribute it under GPL and provide the source code as well (since it was provided to you).

As far as I can tell they are complying with it.

From looking at the video you seem to be using the uptomytempo cheat, but it didn't show up on the video....interesting.

sorry for the double post but thought i needed to reply to this lol.

i did use the uptomytempo cheat for the tutorial... lol. i was hardly gunna waste my time playing a tutorial when i already know how to play the game lol. all i did was press enter striaght after it and it ok'ed it before i gave it a chance to show up on screen lol.. if you look carefully you see the screen going dark for a second, thats when i entered the cheat. i didnt do that on the 2nd one, i waited to show that the cheat still shows up on guitar star

Bramahbull, either download and play what we're talking about or at least look at the screen shots. This German Guitar Star IS just a modded FoF. Do not mistake it for the Guitar Zero 2 beta (also named Guitar Star, for some reason).

So, I think we've settled the fact that it's a rip-off of Frets on Fire. I do not see a need to keep this thread up and running considering that Guitar Star is actually legal (I think). Look at the bright side, if someone buys that game, it's their fault for not looking up FoF. This game isn't popular anyway.
