LIKE I SAID (Jesh!!), the GH3 theme may not be color supported by the new hotfix just released today!! Either use 2.950- which works just fine, OR just wait til I release my new version using advantage of the new feature's MFH just added for me and others.

On 2nd thought, I'm going to relax and maybe just release it in a couple days instead. :(

@MFH:
in regards to the new HoPo you have been working on...after playing gh2 today i realized that the HoPo system used is a mix of strict and sloppy. by this i mean they allow the press of incorrect descending frets, not ascending. for example:

this scale:

G ------
R -----o
Y -------
B ---o--
O -0----

can be incorrectly played like:

G ------
R -------o
Y -----o--
B ---o---
O -0----

as long as the correct notes are hit on time. however the reverse ascending scale of this:

G -------
R -0-----
Y --------
B ---o----
O -----o-

cannot be played like this:

G ----------
R -0--------
Y ---o------
B -----o----
O -------o-

my point being, would you consider integrating this knowledge into your new HoPo system? this would be a fair comprise for the sloppy and strict users IMO.

incorrect descending frets is allowed because of "shadowing" like if you were still holding blue when you incorrectly pressed yellow then nothing would happen because the highest fret held is still correct but by the time you release the blue fret if the yellow is still held then it counts as a messed up note and the red will require a strum. But if the yellow is released by then the red will still be a ho/po :D
I hope i cleared that up? Maybe i was just restating what you were trying to say though haha

yea i know what you're saying raz...on score hero thats what they refer to it as. its like using the "holding lower frets while playing higher ones" logic but applied to HoPos.

i alternate from time to time. i know thats how it is on strict. IMO i think we should classify the HoPo systems like this:

- "gh2 sloppy" should be just "sloppy"

- "gh2 strict" should be "rockband" because its pretty much the same rules.

- "rf-mod" should remain as is (for the few who use it)

- the new HoPo system MFH is currently working on should use the information supplied by Raz and myself and be called "GH2"

My apologies if you thought I was implying you weren't quick enough to release updates; that wasn't the case.
I do am very grateful for all the work you and the other guys involved with the mod are doing, and (as tipped by my comment about "nitpicking") was merely reporting the minor graphic glitches I had spotted in a quick glance, just in case you weren't already aware of them. Please take all the time you need. :;):

worldrave wrote:About the exit thing though being 1 pixel or so lower, to be accurate, in GH3 the exit line is actually about 3/5ths of a line of space between the last line and the EXIT line, and not LESS space like your thinking.
You got me wrong (again :p ) : I wasn't talking about accuracy compared to Guitar Hero 3, but about the fact that when highlighted, an extra line of pixel appears below the button.
Anyway, I know from your post #3235 (see, I pay attention to what you say :;): ) that a pixel-perfect version of that menu is en route, and from the looks of it it will rocks much ass.
Than != Then. It's != Its. Of != Have. Your != You're. Their != There != They're.

i second this idea :D
besides... naming it "GH2" sloppy makes it feel like its supposed to be for only GH2 so just "sloppy" seems better.

Ok, here's the finished Main screen now. (I will package everything up clean as soon as i finish the rest, so it can be the updated GH3 for future hotfixes/complete mods. That will assure everyone is on the same page, using the same version GH3. Bear in mind it can't be perfect yet since some menu items aren't in FoF YET :)

Edit- Had to tweak a few things after comparing shots. I've shown both to see the differences

GH3 Theme BETA 3 Version screen shot Guitar Hero 3 screen shot

More Progress :)
Pause Menu (MENU Items need to be aligned in code.) Also, still haven't got back to work on the Main GH3 font
GH3 BETA 3 Mod (Text will look good and detailed once scaling quality is added-SEE MFH Hotfix notes.) Guitar Hero 3

And last but not least (For tonight at least, TIRED!!!)

Song Selection Section

@MFH, could you possibly either change the color of the score to match hex color #3f5a75 which is the same as artist, or if not possibly add a Theme.ini color setting, THANKS!! :))

Notice I edited the Tier names to be all caps, since that's how they are in GH3, which is a quick fix (Edit the titles.ini file inside your GH3 song list). The artist names also need to be changed to all caps, I just haven't done that yet, As I just noticed now when comparing the photo's, and honestly too tired to do it now just to make a new screenshot replacement.
