I don't play the real games much, but I think you can do it in Guitar Hero as well, can't you?

i don't remember about guitar hero but you have not always been able to do that in fofix, it used to be if you hit any fret other than the cord you would break the streak.

i stumbled on this also

About the animated hitflames image. What we would need to do is change the dimension of the Y size, instead of stretching the image. Though that can be done for now if changing the code to draw the image taller on screen is more of a task then expected.

The score color is still white for some reason, and i know i modified the code to be the proper green for GH3, so either something got changed that's effecting that code part, or got erased, but it's white instead of green now. I would mess around with it to just add a new theme.ini setting (IE- score_color=#hex) if i could remember which file and area that was at. Speaking of which, i still think that would be a good idea to have some form of generic basic description of where stuff is in the more important files for use of a guideline for smaller coding things.

Very nice job on the whammy, working great so far for me. Heck, now we just need to add a 2 or 4% audio boost along with an echo effect to the main track when using star power, and that's closer to about it.

Note the notes Blue and Orange
That does not happen in Guitar Hero

In Rock Band you can't press any fret besides those in the chord, to the left, right or in between. I was thinking of bringing this up too but I just didn't find it that important.

:blush: Ahh jeesh, stupid me. And here i am the one that even put that in the Wiki myself. However, I do know for sure though that I PERSONALLY changed the code manually to be THAT color for GH3 based theme's, since it was working before up until about 3 weeks ago or so. And would still like to fix that default i had that set for, but yeah the theme setting will still work fine for now. Thanks Slantyr for reminding me of that theme setting. Feeling a little embarrassed. LOL. Not drinking or smoking so now excuse this time. HAHA.

Does anyone know where the fretsonfire.log is in the Linux build? I'm having some issues...

I can play one song just fine, but when I try to play a second song, it freezes at the loading screen.

~/.fretsonfire/fretsonfire.ini

I was having that issue, don't remember exactly what caused it, search for some of the issues I have opened up on google code to find the solution.

Also, post your log file when it happened. (In the same folder as the ini.)

@bigode
:wink: man, for example, you have a green note and a hammer on in red note, on Guitar Hero I, you need to keep holding the green fret and tap the red fret

Yeah, I definitely don't have anything called fretsonfire.log... I have the usual fretsonfire.ini and something called fretsonfire.pot. In fact, I just searched my entire Linux partition for all files containing 'fretsonifre,' and those were the only results. In Windows, I have a file called fretsonfire.log.

Run the game, up until the point that it crashes, and check the folder again for the logfile.

I have never seen fretsonfire.pot in my time playing the game. =\
