This has happened in 3.030, 3.025, and the base 3.000 release. I've tried everything I can think of: setting a different compatibility mode, deleting the fretsonfire.ini, un-installing and re-installing FoFix. I really don't know what the problem is here.

Post your fretsonfire.log somewhere and link it here so we can have a look and see if we can find anything that sticks out.

Unfortunately, I deleted it after giving up trying to get the game to agree with me. I can re-d/l the game and try this again. I will post the new log file if the problems persist

I'll talk to hmann333 about the idea....But i don' believe we do something cuz the setlist is already is out of place for the score on the right side.. We'll see. :wink:
If there is such an idea , this can be in the song.ini:

type = r1,r2,r3,g1,g2 ...and so on

r1 (rockband1)
r2 (rockband2)
r3 (dlc)
g1 (guitar hero 1)
g2 (guitar hero 2)
g3 (guitar hero 3)
g4 (guitar hero 4)
g8 (gh rock the 80's)
ga (guitar hero aerosmith)
p1 (puppetz hero 1)
p2 (puppetz hero 2)
p3 (puppetz hero 3)
p4 (puppetz hero 4)
pm (puppetz hero metallica)
And more...

I'm not too worried about it being added right now. One thing that will need to be coded to FOFIX is user defining font point size for various menus and such. This will allow better scaling so that we might be able to do this idea at a later date. I would still like to get the graphics to begin modifying them to fit for each of the games in the meantime. I've also actually added a line to my RB Update song.ini

icon = rb1
icon = rb2
icon = rbdlc
icon = gh1
icon = gh2
icon = gh2dlc
icon = gh80
icon = gh3
icon = gh3dlc
icon = gha
icon = ghwt <- not out yet obviously
icon = ghwtdlc <- not out yet obviously
icon = ghm <- not out yet obviously
icon = ph1
icon = ph2
icon = ph3
icon = ph4 <- not out yet obviously
icon = phm <- not out yet obviously

ok so I guess I am letting the cat out of the bag some. I am working on update packs for each of the games. But RB will be first since it has the most games. Thank gawd I am getting some major help in info and art recon :)

The puppetz hero's ones wouldnt be built in as he would make and release them himself... that way you wouldnt have people just adding "PH3_logo = 1" to their ini's

I still don't see the point in this, but if it happens perhaps there should just be some sort of generic icon.png, and each song can also have an icon.png. That way no song.ini modification is necessary, and it's expandable for all games and custom song packs.
Even better, just a titles.ini setting and/or an icon.png in the same folder as the titles.ini. One file in one spot, and the entire career's songs have the icon. Plus a generic (theme based?) icon for songs/packs that don't have one.

You people realise that this is all assuming you can list songs in subfolders, right? How long will your song list take to load if it has to load every song in your library?

it will defiantly have to be like this, because there is no point doing it if its not expandable. we don't want to have to go in and recode every time a new pack comes out.

and yes there is no point in even doing this until we get list all songs in library working, cause you don't need an icon telling you that everysong in the rockband 2 folder is from rockband 2

This.

Although, these two should still be made into low-priority issues (and linked together so we know one comes before the other) for later.

Last night I spent all my time trying to figure out why my laptop appears to be failing. The screen was acting very strange, flickering, showing corrupted graphics, and rebooting didn't fix it. It seems to be my video card acting up, as I couldn't even get away from the problem by using an external monitor. I need to find the latest drivers and see if that helps... nvidia's official geforce drivers don't work, I need the mobile / Go driver version. Ugh... hopefully my laptop lasts a bit longer, I still don't have all the parts I need to fix my old desktop.

Oh well.... off to work, maybe I'll figure something out this weekend. :sad:

when i submitted the all songs idea i said that there should be a database thats created. when any new songs are added you go into the settings and choose "rescan songs" or something similar and a database file is created that fof reads instead of the actual files and folders. this would speed up normal browsing around the songs a ton too.

You might want to boot/use a LiveCD GNU/Linux distro (e.g. Ubuntu) in order to figure if it's driver or hardware related.

I had an Alienware laptop come in to the Computer Shop I work at just a few days ago having the same issue.

Naturally, as a Linux user, I did just want evilynux suggested, and eventually figured out the Video Card had overheated at some point.

I hope that isn't your issue, MFH.

Nvidia's support for their video card is complete crap. When trying to update my nvidia card, it took me like 2 hours to find the right driver.
