Hey, this is my first mod, thanks heaps to Seafoo for helping me. It's background skin, with the Luna Park themepark for the background. It's my first mod, so constructive criticism is encouraged. I'm not one of those 'be nice on me cuz its my ferst mod lolz' people.

I included the original Luna Park picture if anyone wants to fix it up.

It turned out looking pretty good. The positioning is just right. It will be interesting to see all the new graphic mods for the new version of FoF. Things like blending and foreground elements can be used in all sorts of ways. It would be interesting to see if you could cut the top half of the face out, move it down the screen a bit and put it on a foreground layer to make it look like its actually coming through the mouth.

Nice work :)

edit: filefront is being evil today for some reason... could somebody put that on sendspace or something for me? please?

Hey Dahaloman. Good work on the mod.

I'm currently having a play around to see what's possible with the new version of FoF and i'm having some probs getting the PNGs to work. I noticed that your stage.ini file still refers to the file it's looking for as an SVG, and that you have still got both a png file and an svg file in there.

Just prodded around some more and realised that by changing the extension on the svg, that it is infact a png file. Tried doing this with my image but to no avail....... ok now i'm confused. I can take the lunapark.svg file (which wouldnt display in firefox, just gave me some XML gibberish) and rename the extension to either png or jpg and I can then view the image.

My errorlog has this to say:

"AttributeError: Texture instance has no attribute 'pixelSize'"

I tried adding pixelSize into the ini which didnt work, and I have already set the resolution of the image.

Anyway, your help would be appreciated

Hmm...well, I'll tell you what I did step by step. Oh, the only reason I had the png file in there is because if anyone wanted to fix it up or anything.

1. Make a folder for your background.

2. Get a good, clear picture in photoshop/GIMP or whatever, can't be Paint.. Select the main portion of your picture, and paste it in a new document. Resize it to around 800 x 600 and save it as a .png. In this tutorial, we'll call it pic.png.

3. Copy the stage.ini from my Luna Park folder, and place it in your folder.

4. Rename your 'pic.png' to 'pic.svg', because like you said, svgs are the same as pngs, but FOF only reads FOF.

5. Make the stuff in your stage.ini file link to your picture, pic.svg. You should know how to do that. I think it's all up the top of it.

6. Right now, the stuff in your stage.ini file should read;
[layer1]
texture = pic.svg
xres = 800
yres = 688
xscale = 1.2
yscale = 1.2
xpos = 0.06
ypos = -0.6
angle = 0.0

7. Try it out ingame. If it's not in position, fiddle around with the settings in the INI file. X equals width, and Y equals height. Fill in the Res to be the side of the picture. The scale is the size of the picture. If you want to make it bigger or smaller, I would have them both the same, or it will cause some serious stretching. Pos is the position it's in. You can have stuff like 0.0, -0.0, 0.05, -0.05. Like it said, it can take a while to get right. If you hate starting a song all the time., just go to the tutorial.

8. Upload it to Rapidshare, Megaupload, or Sendspace, and post it on here.

9. If you have ANY more questions, please PM me. I'll be happy to answer. :)

I have no idea about ANY error messages you may get.

Thanks for your positive comments, I really appreciate them. :D

overall the mod looks great. it would be cool to design an accompanying neck. the flames look out of place
