Here's an easy way to make GH2 rhythm parts playable in Frets on Fire:

1. make a copy of the song folder (always work on a copy, this edit is destructive)
2. rename rhythm.ogg to guitar.ogg and vice versa
3. remove the guitar part from the notes.mid file (the part is track one, named PART GUITAR). Use a suitable midi editor (Cakewalk 3.0 works fine, free Anvil Studio works too)
4. Change song name in the song.ini for something suitable (add "bass" to song name or whatever)

Simple as that! Bass part with all difficulty levels is now playable.

NOTE: you need the latest update of FoF 1.1.324 for this to work. It would be nice to have a way to select the rhythm track directly from the FoF GUI (hint for the next version...)

Just tried this method out on Rush YYZ. It came out great. I used Anvil Studios Midi Editor.

One note of caution: Mute does not mean the same as delete.
