Error when trying to play

I just downloaded the newest version and when I try to play, it give me this message, WASECONNREFUSED, then it sends me to the main menu.

Connection refused.
No connection could be made because the target computer actively refused it. This usually results from trying to connect to a service that is inactive on the foreign host—that is, one with no server application running.


Huh, maybe you should try turning score uploading on or off in the options menu. Don't get your hopes up for this to work though, the game doesn't look like it even tries to connect to the score server before the song finishes and this is a complete shot in the dark, anyway.

once again did you upgrade the last version or did you get a fresh "clean version?
upgrading causes random problems with computers and laptops alike

I'm still getting the connection error.
I've got the latest version and i've turned off all my firewalls...

Any other ideas.

My graphics are also messed up if, if anyone can help, I can't see half letters in the menu. There are just yellow squares instead...

That could be due to your graphix drivers , go download the latest drivers for your graphix card

REALLY !! ??? i thought it was the other way around, a couple of my friends of mine both used the installer and had a **** load of problems, where as ive done the upgrade and havnt had a single issue ( so far )

I'm starting to loose hope here. :(

I've been playing around with all kinds of network settings for the last two days and I can't seem to find a way around the WSAECONNREFUSED error.
Does anyone have any other ideas.

Managed to fix the graphics though, new drivers did the trick.
