whatakevin wrote:-are u kidding? DX10 ROFL! GH doesnt have that good graphics
-look @ halo2, LOTS of people hacked it to work with XP

wait, what does that have to do with anything rf said?! O.o

regardless, everything he said was true. whammy could be added if someone had the will and coding skills. just like how the rock meter and everything, instead of complaining and asking for it, someone actually did it...

whatakevin wrote:-isnt that the same thing that you said about rotation? and hering implemented rotation for his rock meter.
-didnt you guys also say that there will never be a rock meter like 6 months ago? hering made one

1-I doubt it. If there is an input device, there will eventually be a way to use it to activate events.
-The only reason anyone said there wouldn't be a rock meter is because nobody wanted to try to program it.

Those two things are in a completely different boat than a whammy effect. Until Python and the game libraries are able to edit sounds in realtime, you won't have a whammy effect. You can have star power and the visual aspect of whammy, but that's it.

I do remember being able to edit sounds in Blender, though, when I was trying to make a platform game years ago. I don't think it was in realtime, though.

Regarding the earlier DirectX10 comments...

Companies have been recognizing that there a lot of people that are unhappy with Vista lately. Computer providers, such as Dell (yeah, I know they make cheap parts... I'm using one of their laptops =>_<= ), have stopped forcing Vista on customers and are allowing for XP again.

It's because of the large amount of negative feedback regarding Vista that I think the grand majority of new PC games will be compatible with both DirectX9 and DirectX10 and will remain this way until Vista stops being a piece of garbage. (I used it for a month and wanted to burn every copy of it due to how horrible it was)

In regards to Guitar Hero III being on PC. Just as long as my laptop can handle it I'll be immensely pleased as I would've had to wait a couple months before I could get it otherwise. Since the guitar's USB I can even use it for Frets which makes me even more happy. I don't even own the first two games since all I have are Nintendo consoles... (minus their most recent one), so it'll be nice to finally own an official copy of one of the games.

I'm rather excited about the release date, I've been in need of a new game to tinker with.

Yet another reason why FoF should find some unique things to do.

It's the 360 guitar...weak sauce

I have the usb reciever for 360 already, so I'll prolly get one of the 360 Les Pauls, or possibly a PS3 one, since those use usb too.
Why am I on this website? I'm clearly over the age limit of 14.
