hey.
i tried ur tut but if i want to play my song it says
"It is not a valid midi file"
what i have to do to make it work?
Hey Yvesbert,
The only thing I can think of is this:
Did you make sure you were using the SNG to MID convertor?
If that didn't solve you problem, maybe I can help. I will convert the .sng file for you if you can:
1. Upload the .sng file to a file uploading site ( www.megaupload.com or www.rapidshare.de will work perfectly) and send the link to me via PM, AIM, or Windows Live Messenger.
2. Send me the file directly via AIM or Windows Live Messenger.

Never fails i get through the hard part and just as i think im in the clear i get a problem the notepad document wont save as an ini granted i dont know exactly what it is but aparantly i dont have it or dont know how to save it that way
When you go to file>save as, try changing the "save as type." That is right under the "file name" input box. Unicode works for me.
If that doesn't work, just copy one of the song.ini files from a different song folder, and paste it onto your desktop. Open it, and put in your info. Then go to file>save (not save as) this should save it as a .ini file no matter what.

Is there something other than Freetar Editor or Frets On Fire's editor to write notes with a bit of flexibilty/room for error and fine tuning?

How do i make a song with 2 (or more) different difficulties??
btw, thanks for the guide! it's awsome
you'll have to make one sng file for every level
and convert all sng to midi here:
http://www.nukular.ch/foftools
----------------------------------------------
now to my little question. is it possible to use a already finished midi file?
for example, files from mididb
or open a midi file in Freetar Editor so you don't have to add every single note by your selfe.
i just read your guide.. and i made a song and i made a Song.ini file but no name is coming up for my song.
