By that he means it's incredibly hard to die because of how strong you are, how much health you have, and how you can pickup health and armor in almost every room. You can die, but you probably won't.

Yeah I guess not dying removed the feeling of accomplishment after completing a bunch of platforming or something, but at the same time not dying at all and not dying easily are pretty different.
