Re: Tapping notes
for rb themes yo u c o u l d turn it off... and for gh themes yo u coul d turn it on.... Really? I could've sworn Rock Band had tapping solos too... (albeit forcing you to use the solo buttons) Rock Band never forces you to use the 'tapping' buttons.* You can always use both sets of buttons, and wi...

Re: Awesome Buttons!
I should note that the yellow frets cut into eachother a bit, but otherwise excellent job. I'm sure others have thought of making "awesome" frets/notes, but this design in particular is very effective. All you need now are buckets of KFC for the notes, and the look will be complete.

Re: Any way to find songs in your library don't work?
I don't know of a way to broadly search for "missing" files, but you could always search for .oggs and then use process of elimination.

Three-armed drummer - how to chart?
As real drummers know, hi-hats do not necessarily have to be hit with a drumstick. The pedal mechanism that opens and closes the hi-hat can emulate the effect of a stick hit by closing the hi-hat quickly. This technique allows a drummer to hit a bass drum and a hi-hat while having both arms availabl...

Re: Mod for drumnotes?
But then you'd have to strum the notes. I thought he wanted to play them with a guitar. Going off what NBSRDan said, couldn't you just change the name of fretbuttons.png and notes.png to drumfrets.png and drumnotes.png? There might still be some things that need to be modified in the theme.ini thou...

Re: Mod for drumnotes?
You could edit the drumnotes.png and drumfrets.png to make the pedal look like another pad note, though you'd have to squeeze two notes into the space of one, or if you really wanted it to look nice, move all the notes using theme.ini settings.

Re: Some Small Fretting Rules (HELP!)
It all depends: Bends - Depends on the speed of the bend. If it sounds like a gradual rise/fall, just chart one sustained note; if it's quick (I'd say <.3 seconds is a good guideline), or even if it is slow but sounds like the pitch change is punctuating the beat, then chart multiple notes. Dead not...

Looping music: How to end?
There are lots of looping songs (read: video game soundtracks) that I think would make a great addition to Frets on Fire, but one problem makes me reluctant to try charting them: How do you find the end of a donut? As I see it, there are two ways to end a looping song: A - cut it at the exact end of...

Tapping notes
This is an idea to make the game more realistic, and maybe even more fun. A new type of note, only for Guitar since this is already how drums normally work. These would be playable as normal notes, but if you didn't strum, they would auto-strum if tapped on-time. They would be like hammer-ons, excep...

Re: The LAWS of guitar authoring
Drum authoring is 90% obvious... Red = Snare or hi-hat at constant 16ths+ Yellow: Closed hi-hat, snare when red is hi-hat, high tom Blue: Splash cymbals, low tom, COWBELL, sometimes used as open hi-hat Green: Crash cymbals, floor tom. Blue is not splash cymbal or cowbell. It goes... Orange - Bass d...
