Re: How to calibrate lag. Works every time.

i know, but Im a massive perfectionist, so now that I know that it'll drive me nuts >_> lol Dude, a frame on most things you watch lasts AT LEAST 30ms. There's just no way you could notice a delay of <10ms, and the sound is probably at least as much behind. Try playinng FoFiX, and turn the detailed...

This has become the standard for most users.

I tried to start using Reaper, but I couldn't figure out how to use it :/ so I decided to just stick with EOF.

the real problem is the beatmap.

Same here, I had to go through and count beat lines and change bpms to get it all set up. Takes a while but it works.

hm Alright, sounds good enough for me.

Re: EOF 1.71 (Updated 11/29/2010)

I was thinking for a good feature, if possible, if we could open multiple .midi files and if we could edit them simultaneously and have them combine in certain orders. Such as I'm charting The Wall in it's entirety but I want to chart each song individually, and both discs individually as two really...

I was talkling about in pro mode not basic guitar.

Thanks
David

Well you can HOPO chords on a real guitar so most likely you can do it in pro mode.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

why does this "Phase Shift is a clone" argument keep coming back? if you call PS a clone then guess what? you can call RB a clone, and since Im pretty sure there was a game before guitar hero, you can call GH a clone as well, Harmonix and Activision dont own the friggin genre people, that...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

the charting method and limitations are in rb3 not ps, we chose not to be put under these same limitations, its supposed to be a pro mode, we want it to be possible to have full accurate charts for any songs, you can not do this with the rb3 method we can define our own standard without breaking co...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

Having an audio and video lag calibration (similar to Rock Band's) would resolve most hit window problems folks have. Having the option for a controller lag (usually only necessary for MIDI devices, such as electronic drums) would probably be nice as well. That would probably also help in figuring ...

I find the hit window really weird. I guess I'm just really used to the tight hit window on FoFiX and a very specific amount of audio and video lag.

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

Well to keep the chart as close to the real thing as possible it would have to change based on tuning, not to mention some songs would be impossible to play if you didn't, or it would sound stupid. For making the most accurate chords I would say look up what notes are in each chord then figure what...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

The main thing I'm worried about is possible detuned guitar parts. I'm not sure how RB3 handles these. For Example: If there is Drop D tuning I'm not sure if the guitar part reflects how it would be if the guitar is tuned correctly or it changes the fret positions to suit the default tuning. Either...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]

The easiest way I can think of for implementing that would be to insert a text event at the same delta tick position of each chord, something like "CHORD=Fmaj7". For sections where the chord is strummed multiple times in a row, it wouldn't be necessary to display the chord name each time,...
