sounds good to me. thanks for the explanation, as that helps. I've got another thing to mention: the fretsonfire in the ubuntu repository is (supposedly) crap. it's slow, etc. I've read that the one from the sourceforge (build 1.2.451) is better, and it seems that way for me, just something to look ...

In linux you usually have a separatye program to do screen shotting. So If I run fretsonfire in fullscreen, I'll miss the next 30 seconds waiting for the program to load, or, alternatively, after it loads, I have to click on a button to save it. Very bad for playing fof. So this is a better idea tha...

I'd like a linux help stickie, but I don;t think it's going to happen. Thanks for bringing up the ubuntu forums, there's a lot of help there =P I don't know my issue with alarian is, but I'm going to try FoF 1.2.451 with noobedition and see how that works. I'm re-downloading alarian, with the hope t...

you beed a bittorrent client to do it. a good one is utorrent (aka microtorrent) google search for it. Once you have the client, the .torrent file should open with utorrent automatically. Edit: adn the topprent file isn't the songs, it's just the info for where you can dowload the songs form other p...

Hello. very handy guide here. Maybe a few things to add: of you are afraid of the terminal, you can use a package amanger to get fretsonfire. It's listed in ubuntu's repositories, so if you have ubuntu, open 'synaptic package manager' and if you're in kubuntu, open 'adept manager' For synaptic, to t...

if you're compiling it from source, then theoretically it should work on other builds. Since alarian's mod is not working on linux, I shall attempt this later. Also: if you have it successfully on your computer, can't you make a release, so I can by lazy and not change all the backslashes to front s...

If you do go for Alarian, make sure you download the 'MegaLite' Theme Blazingamer made (he carries it around in his signature). yep, i was planning on that. I have used it before, and it works well and looks good. I didn't know he had an alarian one. Thanks for reminding me. I'm going to keep this ...

Wow This is pretty useful. I had a huge library of about 350 songs (not counting compilations) that I renamed every one myself, to organize. Since I have to rebuild my library 9stupid head crash) I'll use this for sure. Good work. I'm sure this is very useful. So let me copy the source real quick, f...

Hello, I'm a long-time Frets-on-Fire user, and a long time linux user. I use a 9 year old computer with windows 98 (almost never used) and Ubuntu 6.06. I recently upgraded to Kubuntu 8.04, which is the newest version. Just so you linux people know where I stand software-wise. So I noticed FoF was in...

These are great but... 1. The first one has a watermark on the top and bottom left 2. The second is alright, but it's kind-of low quality (The image is) 3. The last one has the atrifacts that everyone is all on you about. IT's because you resized the image and (it looks) have a JPEG I have nothing a...

I agree with the above, especially in that Runescape is repetitive. It was fun for me for a while, but once I started Grinding (or farming, easy repetitive work) it got boring fast. Nevertheless, my levels are high, my account is not deleted and I'm still on the highscores in some areas =) I still g...

I prefer the older greats to the newer ones usually. But this is possibly because I don't know much about the newer bands. I only know who buckethead/dragonforce/malmsteen/etc. are because of this forum. I like nirvana too =) really, I particularly have an affinity to songs I like, over the difficul...
