Re: New song editor needs testing
I gave it a quick try. Some suggestions: +Add drag and drop functionality for audio files, ie. dragging an audio file onto the window performs insert music file. +Since you have support for FoF MIDI lyrics, it might be worth adding support for script style lyrics, a format similar to simple LRC. It...

Re: New song editor needs testing
Pity no one seems interested. :-( Now 1.0 is released - unfortunately without OSX support yet, but there is now FoF MIDI export to complement the import. It could use some testing though (exported songs can be re-imported and they also seem to be valid for Performous but FoFiX status is unknown at t...

New song editor needs testing
EDIT: 1.0 is now released: website Hi folks, We've been developing a new song editor and it's nearing its 1.0 release. Now we've released a kind of release candidate to get some feedback and find more bugs and usability issues. Background information (e.g. why we didn't settle with EoF) and more det...

Re: Performous 0.6.1 released
Hi there! Is there any hope of having Performous load notes-unedited.mid files? I noticed that a lot of the Rock Band songs don't recognize a vocal track when loaded in Performous. But it does register when I rename the unedited file as notes.mid. I'd hate to have to do that for all my files though...

Re: Performous 0.6.1 released
This is nice, keep up the great work. Will do  Currently the most significant progress has been made in a branch that modernizes the graphics code getting rid of the fixed function pipeline in favor of shaders. Even though it's quite far, the next release will probably still use t...

Re: Phase Shift [v0.71]
Some of the UltraStar games (Performous, UltraStar DX) are open source and have rather mature pitch detection code. You might be able to get some inspiration from that. I'm pretty sure FoFiX has gotten some help from their code/developers in implementing vocals. To my knowledge, Fofix uses Performo...

Re: Performous 0.6.1 released
Thanks for the positive comments!
We released a fresh 0.6.1, which most notably fixes problems with non-ASCII characters in device names under Windows. The rest of the changes can be read from the release announcement at the homepage. The links in the first post still apply.
Cheers!

Performous 0.6.1 released
EDIT: Now in 0.6.1, see a couple of posts down. Performous band game version 0.6.0 was just released. Why should you care / what sets it apart from the rest? ⋅ Solid and mature singing ⋅ All scoring has the same maximum, so comparing e.g. bass player and singer is possible &sdo...

Congrats about very fast response/fix time! I just love projects that take user feedback quickly and seriously into account. :) Anyway, you still didn't answer my question about open-sourcing...

Re: Guitarrero, a clone of Frets On Fire
Looks like a good start. I tested it on linux through Wine, but unfortunately gameplay was too laggy to be playable so I'll probably wait for the native linux version. 3d scenery sounds exciting, I haven't seen that in these free games (I guess the hardest part is modelling and animation). Btw, are ...

Re: Performous: the continuation of UltraStar-NG
probably have a go at converting some of the 3d stuff if it can support it, not sure if it supports textures yet Hello, if by 3d stuff you mean fret objects, i can say (as a guy who added them :) ) that the code supports texturing (done some testing...), but its not enabled because there is not yet...
