If you want to play notes without strumming, you could try playing keys charts on Phase Shift. Non-pro keys is basically guitar without having to strum. You could copy-paste notes from guitar to keys using EOF if keys aren't charted for the song you want to play.

In EOF, go to part drums and then to the BRE tab. Then make a 5 note chord and extend it for as long as you want the fill to be.

Vocals in FoFiX is very glitchy at the moment so I highly doubt that there is anything wrong with your microphone.

Vocals in FoFiX is pretty glitchy at the moment. You'll just have to wait until a new version comes out that supports vocals better.

Have you marked phrases on the vocal track?

If not, that is your problem.

Select the vocal notes you want to mark as a phrase and go to notes-lyric lines-mark or something like that.
