If you don't mind having the 5th fret across the board, then you could go edit the midi of a song from part guitar to part drums and play it as a drum song (no strumming required) but that'll mean no ho/po's.

I have the exact same problem (the new nvidia driver update must have caused it) and i've currently found no possible solution other than downgrading the drivers. You can still play the game like this though, it just makes it hard to determine which song you're picking lol.
