I've got a couple'a PS2 WTars I can test with, but I need to solder a new down strum switch in em' first.

Just curious -- what's this written in? I'm a programmer by trade so when I saw the words VC++ and DirectX I thought to myself that this'd be the perfect candidate for a port to the original Xbox someday. Not that I'm trying to intrude or anything.

While both are good, I prefer the new Guitar Zero. The ammount you have to install is blown way out of proportion, and it really only takes a few minutes to install any of the extra stuff. I'm really doubtful that it's real, and have been for a long time. Some of the stuff he claims to have done is impossible without the SP source code, plus it's been 'about to be released' for like a year now. Personally, I think it's a crock.

I'd definitely be all over it for a couple reasons:

1-C++ can be optimized much better than python, lowering minimum machine requirements
2-C++ FoF would be port-able to Xbox

Everywhere I've read says that the DLC does have rhythm and bass tracks. So I gotta go with Viper on this one.

Still, I'm in no rush.

I play both. If FoF songs had the impossible -- that is separate guitar tracks for new songs -- I'd probably play FoF only, or port the songs to GH.

You have to run the Xbox version Windows98 to even have a slight chance. (which requires a modded Xbox) Even then, running Win98 and then FoF on top of that would probably be slooooooooow if Python even would work. If Guitar Zero was open-source that would be the best bet since it'd be written in C+...

Indeed. It sortof defeats the purpose of "Guitar Hero" to not strum. I mean, I know how to play with the PS2 gamepad, but I prefer the GH Guitar. Otherwise it might as well be Bongo Hero or Bongos on Fire.

One minute is a pretty long preview. Limiting it to 20 seconds or less will give you an instant load of the song with no lag.
