Failing that, you can try using a program like GoldWave to separate them using the Reduce Vocals tool. It will work well with some songs and completely fail with others.

I've got the F3-F5 problem too. Changed my pick key to right shift. My friend's keyboard doesn't work with shift either, though, so I think he picks with the \ key.

I personally use GoldWave for just about anything involving audio. It's a very nice program.
